Boeing 747s in Postcards: Celebrating this famous aircraft
In the late 1960s, Boeing began conceptualizing a new aircraft that could carry significantly more passengers than its existing models. The idea was to create a high-capacity, long-range airliner to meet the growing demand for air travel. Boeing's chief engineer, Joe Sutter, led the design team, which aimed to build a revolutionary aircraft that would change the face of commercial aviation.
