The name Lausanne already stands proudly on the side of SWISS’s first Airbus A350-900. But the twinjet’s formal ‘baptism’ is still to be performed. SWISS will take delivery of its latest fleet member this fall. And the company is now looking for a ‘godparent’ from the Swiss populace to help name the new addition. The sole criteria for the role: creative flair and a passion for travel.
Fans of SWISS are now being offered a truly exceptional opportunity: to seek to become a ‘godmother’ or ‘godfather’ to the company’s first Airbus A350-900. The lucky person chosen will get to name the advanced new long-haul twinjet ‘Lausanne’ after it arrives in Zurich, together with a celebrity invitee.
To perform the honour, SWISS is looking for someone with a particular passion for both travel and the aviation world. The company’s first Airbus A350 has, after all, been given a special ‘SWISS Wanderlust’ livery to carry Switzerland in all its variety all over the globe.
Anyone wishing to become the new aircraft’s godparent is invited to demonstrate their own wanderlust in video form – be it with a special view from a flight, an emotional moment with loved ones on the ground or another personal travel story or experience.
How to enter
• Post a short ‘wanderlust video’ on Instagram between now and 14 September under the #MyWanderlustMoment hashtag.

• Make sure your profile is public.
SWISS has a total of ten Airbus A350-900s on order, which will be delivered between now and 2031. The aircraft will arrive complete with the new SWISS Senses cabin, which offers guests a totally new air travel experience.
A homage to Switzerland
The first SWISS Airbus A350-900’s special ‘SWISS Wanderlust’ livery celebrates famous buildings and other sights of Switzerland, along with traditional Swiss sports and cultural events. Each of the livery’s numerous illustrations highlights a particular aspect of SWISS’s home country and its landscapes, people and culture.
